ABCya.com develops games and apps used in schools across Canada and the U.S., and it stands up to its tagline ‘The Leader in Educational Computer Games for Kids‘. The site is free, the activities focus on skills and was developed by an educator. ABCya.com would not warrant mention here if it did not meet the ‘That Fun Reading Teacher‘ early literacy, learning through fun criteria.
Please not that my endorsement of ABCya.com is not motivated by any campaign or relationship with the brand, simply by my experience with it.
My students enjoy ABCya on our school computers, and I have selected some popular (and, of course, effective!) games and apps to share with you today that focus on early literacy development. The descriptions beside each are direct quotes from the site.
